I am actually shitting bricks.
Shep is doing a charity motorbike ride this weekend....John O` Groats to Lands End. 887 fooking miles. He finishes work tomorrow at lunchtime, will come home for food and to get kitted up, then at around 3 is setting off with his co-riders, heading up to Dumbarton, where they will stay the night, then Sunday morning up to John O`Groats, again, staying the night, then on Monday morning at stupid o`clock they will head back down, all the way down, to Lands End. Then Tuesday he`ll head back home, hopefully arriving back here by late afternoon-ish.
The run is all in aid of research into Xeroderma Pigmentosum which affects two of my friends` children..it`s basically an allergy to sunlight and uv rays...so the boys are hoping to raise funds, and awareness into the effects of XP! Shep has managed to raise over £800 so far in sponsorship, hopefully he`ll be ok and get back to us safely!! I, meanwhile, shall be sitting here, biting my nails and waiting for phonecalls!!!

Yes, it is a good cause. Sadly, 40% of XP sufferers will die before they are 20 years old, and my friend, Neti, has two boys who both have XP. Thomas is already 11. :/

My dad used to do that ride on a bike i his younger years and they would strip off and do the last mile or 10 maked, thankfully there are no pics :D

They`re nearly at Glasgow...had a phone call about 20 mins ago!! If you google Stamford, Lincolnshire, then see how far from here to Glasgow, it`s a fair old run! After Glasgow, it`s only a skip to Dumbarton, where they`re staying tonight.
I do miss him, though. :(

Wow! Jealous! What does he ride? I went for a ride today :D I'm getting so much better ^__^ I'm gonna do sponsored runs too hopefully, when I have a bigger bike :D

He`s gone on his xjs1100..it`s the best bike for the job, the chop would`ve looked nice getting there, but would`ve taken too long, and the trike isn`t practical for such a long run. I miss him!!
